Biography

Vicky Grady’s a Singer Songwriter that plays finger style and rhythm acoustic guitar.

 

Born in Norwich, UK she has been writing songs since a teenager when she started to listen to inspirations such as Tori Amos, Sheryl Crow, Ani Difranco and Alanis Morissette.

 

She found that music was a good way of self expressing her emotions and thoughts, so she picked up an acoustic guitar and started writing and learning songs.

 

The first time she performed was at a bar called ‘Boswells’ in Norwich, UK she then went on to performing at open mic nights, talent shows and jam sessions around England and Scotland.

 

She worked with local musicians and formed a duo in 2000 that performed around Norwich until 2006.  In 2002 she formed the ‘Vicky Grady Band’. She also worked with other bands such as ‘Morning Blue’ and ‘MagicFolk’ but found that her heart was in her solo career.    

 

In September 2009 she moved to Georgia.  She has performed at open mic’s and jam sessions around Augusta, Georgia and is now performing at venues around Georgia and South Carolina.

 

In 2010 she finished her solo album ‘Piece by Piece’ and made a video for ‘Down by the River’ which is also featured on the album and can be viewed on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eE9Hra7TWo

 

She performs a mixture of her own material and songs from Led Zeppelin, Van Morrison, Eva Cassidy, Joni Mitchell, Amy McDonald, Fiona Apple, Tracy Chapman and more.
